This Muffin Tin Meal was hastily put together for a hungry Mr 22 Months who was following my every move! There are two little portions of leftover meat from the previous night's roast beef. The beef was tender and perfect for my little man who is still missing a number of important chewing teeth.
There are also chunks of pineapple leftover from Mini Pineapple Doughnuts and lastly some mini corn on the cobs. He's regularly enjoyed corn kernels but this was the first time I'd given him the corn still on the cob! I was a little worried how he'd manage with them, you see he's a big eater so I was concerned he wouldn't know when to stop. Thankfully he knew and handed me each "naked" cob once he had chewed every last piece of corn from it.
This Muffin Tin Meal got me wondering WHEN Mr 22 months will grow more teeth. Along with having different eating habits, my 2 boys also have completely different teeth growing schedules. My oldest had all his teeth by about 18 months whereas Mr 22 Months only had about 12 teeth and has HUGE gaps on the top and bottom.
This shows you that all children (even siblings) grow at completely at different rates. I'm not wishing the pain that comes with teething on him, but the joys of being able to eat more adventurous meat that comes with growing important chewing teeth. In the meantime, the meat in this muffin tin meal was the perfect consistency and he ate every bite!
How about you - were your children early or late teeth developers?

Sounds like your tin was a hit! As for teeth, I can't remember how early The Muffin got her teeth (and am too lazy to go looking and find out), but she now (at 5) has her second wobbly tooth, and I know this is happening earlier for her than most of the other kids in her class...
ReplyDeleteWow, at 5! Don't know how I'll handle it when the kids get wobbly teeth... am pretty squeamish!
DeleteThis meal looks delicious! My little ones seemed to be right on time with growing teeth. I remember when my DS just loved corn. My Daddy would tell him in a sing-song voice..."When you get enough teeth I'm going to give you some corn-on-the-cob!" I remember when that day came, and I've got pictures to make sure I don't forget it. Those few smiling teeth and that corn cob...priceless!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this week!
Blessings,
Kristine
What a cute story! Must be a special photo. I'm waiting to give him lamb chops - I know he will LOVE them! (think I'll also take photos for memories!)
DeleteWhat amazing leftovers!
ReplyDeleteThanks! He was pretty spoiled with this meal - the meat was delicious!
DeleteNow that is an interesting idea!
ReplyDeleteLeftovers are awesome! All my kids were very late with teeth. They are all so different. :) I will have to try corn in their lunches now!
