In My Kitchen – June 2013

Last week I learned of this really interesting blog hop of sorts where bloggers share a peek inside what’s happening inside their kitchen throughout the month. I had a peek at each of the posts shared and was inspired to share my own….

With Winter setting in here in Melbourne I’ve been roasting a chicken at least once a week.

Later in the week I’ll be making a 3rd Birthday Cake in my kitchen for my youngest… where the past 3 years have gone, I do not know! He’s demanded a “Strawberry Cake”, so I guess I’ll be making a Strawberry Cake later this week!

His candle is sitting on the beautiful handmade chopping board I picked up the other week at The Eumundi Markets.

As I’m nearing the end of recipe perfecting for my Pancakes eBook I’ve been cooking pancakes in my kitchen… lots and lots of pancakes! These Pancakes are one of my personal favorites for the book – Cheescake Pancakes. They have ricotta cooked into the pancakes and taste like a decadent cheesecake… (recipe coming in the Grain Free Pancakes eBook soon!)

If you Follow Me On Facebook, you’ll know that a few days ago I received my first gelatin order. I’ve already made Mini Raspberry Jellies which the boys adored (recipe coming soon) and my oldest has asked for Chocolate Jelly – so I’m going to be working on that too! By the way – I bought my gelatin from GPA Wholefoods, and you can also Find It On Amazon, if they deliver to you.

My kitchen has also seen lots of cooking with my kids through June. They love helping me measure and mix and I just adore having them with me and their reaction to their delight at enjoying food that THEY prepare. Here’s my 2 year old in action… and yes, he often cooks while chomping on a carrot!

As you can see – June’s proving to be a busy month in my kitchen!
