Cooking With Kids Activity – Cracking Eggs

My kids are on school holidays at the moment, so I’m getting in the kitchen with them regularly, giving them activities to do that will help broaden their cooking adventures.

The other day they had a cracking good time (sorry, I had to!) cracking egg after egg into a large bowl.

They took turns cracking eggs. My almost 5 year old was a little more skilled than his 3 year old brother, but they both enjoyed the activity and getting their hands into their meal.

They also enjoy taking turns to use the hand beater to beat the eggs. It’s a handy tool to have in the kitchen which the kids absolutely ADORE! (where to find an egg beater)

I gave them a few pieces of bread to dip into the egg to make french toast.

My 5 year old kneaded the bread enthusiastically. So enthusiastically that it crumbled into smaller and smaller pieces until their bowl had handfuls of egg mixed with handfuls of bread! You’ve got to love the look of pure joy on my 5 year olds face as he works his bread…

I cooked their eggy bready french toast for them and they both proudly devoured the meal they made for themselves.

Please share any fun cooking activities your done with your kids in the comments.
