3 Month Ketogenic Diet Weight Loss Update - before and after pictures, results and my experience of 3 months of the low carb high fat keto diet lifestyle. Keto Weight Loss Before and After Pictures.

The past 3 months have flown by and (spoiler alert) I’ve LOVED every day of the keto diet and it’s helped me lose weight and feel AMAZING.

Before I get into more detail about my month 3 Ketogenic Diet Weight Loss Update, here’s a reminder of my experience to date:

1st Month Keto Diet Update:

2nd Month Keto Diet Update:

I’ve lost a total of 10.4kg/22lbs in the 3 months and, although the weight loss has been slow this month with a 2.5kg loss, I’m thrilled that I’m moving in the right direction. Slowly but surely. I believe that this way of eating is a marathon, not a sprint. (Well, for me it is at least.)

And, it’s important not to compare your Ketogenic Diet Weight Loss to others. We all lose weight at different rates, so it can be disheartening when you see and hear about low carb weight losses that happen fast and the weight loss is HUGE.

I believer that losing weight slowly gives your body time to catch up. I feel I’m losing the weight healthily and, most importantly, it’s enjoyable and sustainable in the long term.

I can’t tell you HOW MANY diets I’ve been on in the past when I’ve lost weight quickly, gone “off” the diet and then put it all back on. (With interest!) I haven’t had that “I can’t wait to eat normally again” feeling because this way of eating feels normal for me. I wouldn’t want to go back to the way I was eating and feel as awful as I was feeling.

That’s another aspect of the diet. Aside from the scale, I’ve enjoyed numerous other health benefits which I attribute to this diet. Some of the health benefits have included – more energy than I can EVER remember, my teeth feel healthier (and a recent visit to the dentist for a check up didn’t hurt nearly as much as it used to) plus my periods feel “healthier” – I need less painkillers to get through the first few days and they are lighter too.

A big change this month is that I’ve stopped formally counting calories/macros. I’ve gotten into a routine of meals, having similar breakfasts/lunches/dinners/snacks/desserts. (Check out my online low carb cooking classes for meal inspiration.)

So, I felt that it wasn’t necessary for me to record every morsel I ate, as I can easily gauge the carb value of a meal and aim for less carbs/more fat/moderate protein.

I feel that it’s important for me to be comfortable with eating intuitively rather than relying on a tracker, so that I can continue losing and eventually maintaining this way of eating with ease.
