6 Month Weight Loss Transformation – Low Carb, Keto Diet Success
It feels AMAZING to achieve my 6 month Low Carb Keto Diet Milestone. (You can read my previous months experiences here.) This way of eating has probably even saved my life as I believe I was on a one way street to Type 2 Diabetes if I didn’t make some serious changes.
So, here’s how I’ve gone the past month, changes I’ve made and (gasp) before and after pictures…
Last month I mentioned that I had been overindulging in dairy and wanted to take a little dairy break. I experimented with dairy free days and days with significantly reduced dairy.
I’ve discovered that cheese and butter are great for me and that unfortunately I don’t feel too good when having sour cream, cream or mascarpone.
It’s an area I’m going to keep experimenting with for the foreseeable future.
Throw Out The Scale?
In last month’s weight loss update post I also mentioned that I would attempt to not weigh myself for a month as I had become a little obsessed with the silly number on the silly scale. I lasted 2 weeks! I’m proud of myself for resisting the temptation to weigh myself for that long, but annoyed at the same time that I couldn’t last a month!
I was curious to see how my dairy free experiment was affecting my weight, so after 2 weeks I caved in and weighed myself. Thankfully I was rewarded with a 1kg weight loss!
No More Spillage!
When I was on a local train recently with my kids, there was a little celebration moment which helped me realise how awesome this Weight Loss Transformation has been.
Usually on trains I experience an embarrassing “spillage” problem, where part of my bottom spills over onto my neighbours seat. I usually place one of my children next to me so that I don’t have to confront the issue with a stranger.
In this instance however, my children were sitting together opposite me, and the seat next to me was empty.
I didn’t even think about it until a man came and sat next to me. Initially I was mortified as I assumed I had spilled over onto his seat. But then I noticed that I wasn’t spilling over onto his seat. My bottom was only taking up my seat and he had his own seat to himself.
I was overjoyed and almost tapped him on the shoulder to share my success, but stopped myself! (Thankfully)

Sometimes when I look in the mirror, I don’t recognise myself for a second… and when I look at these before and after pictures I can understand why. I just look like a different person!
How Much Weight Did I Lose In 6 Months?
Down to the question of the dreaded number on the dreaded scale… In the past 6 months I have lost a total of – 15.4kg/33lbs. Yes, I’ve had ups and downs along the way, but overall it’s been a phenomenal experience and I can’t wait to see what the future holds…
