How To Pack Lunch Boxes In 5 Minutes Flat

Mornings can be a real rush, can’t they?! In this post I’ll show you How To Pack Your Kids Lunch Boxes In 5 Minutes Flat.

I have heaps of tricks I follow to get my Husband and youngest son out the door as quick as possible, while packing nourishing lunch boxes from scratch each morning.

Get Yourself Organized!

Think ahead and plan yourself a lunch box menu for the week, so that your fridge and pantry is fully stocked with all you need to make nourishing lunch boxes. (You’ll find printables and more detailed lists for this and more in my eBook “The Grain Free Lunch Box“.)

Once you have your lunch box meal plan for the week, make a plan for WHEN each task will be undertaken. Such as boiling eggs for a few days of shaped hard boiled eggs. (Click here for an egg mold tutorial.)

Lunch Box Pre-Planning & Preparation

Ensure all lunch boxes and accessories/extras are washed, ready and waiting the night before for fast packing action in the morning.

Pack as much as possible the night before. Here are some sneaky shortcuts to help:

  • Pre-Cut Fruit and Vegetables and store them in the fridge
  • Pre-Make sandwich fillings
  • Pre-Make Pancakes, Muffins or other lunch box inclusions
  • Keep a list of snacks and extras handy for quick and easy last minute additions
  • Use frozen fruit and vegetables. They thaw by lunch time and keep the rest of the lunch box cool too!

How To Get Your Kids Involved

Want to increase the likelihood of the kids actually EATING all the nourishing food you’re lovingly preparing for the lunch box? Get them to help you!

Depending on their age they can do as little as help you chop veggies (with a kid safe knife), pick out the accessories they want to include in the lunch box (see below!) and if they’re a little older they can take ownership of their lunch boxes and make the whole thing themselves!
