Spiralizer Comparison and Sweet Potato Noodles Curly Fries

In my Amazon Haul last week I received two nifty spiralizers that I just couldn’t wait to have a play with. So, today I’m sharing Spiralizer Comparison plus I’ll show you how to make easy, yummy Sweet Potato Noodles or Curly Fries.

These spiralizers are just so useful and fun to use to create a rainbow of fruit and vegetable noodles.

Here is a closer look at both gadgets, and the included accessories:

First, lets talk about both Spiralizers:

Kitchen Active Spiralizer

Small, handy and with two blades on the unit plus a free cleaning brush.

The spiralizer struggled to turn the heavy sweet potato into noodles.

I have since tried the small spiralizer with zucchini and it works a dream! In fact the past couple of days I have spiralized zucchini with it and find it to be easy to use and clean. (Which is important too!)

This spiralizer is great for spiralizing zucchini and other light, smaller vegetables but can’t really cope with the weight or size of bigger vegetables.

The bigger, sturdier of the spiralizers, it comes with three blades and had a much easier time at spiralizing the sweet potato. You can spiralizer pretty much any fruit or vegetable in this spiralizer.

The only down side I’d say, compared to the smaller unit, is that it is a tiny bit more annoying to clean and being bigger you need more space in your kitchen to store it.

Here is a side by side comparison of the sweet potato noodles created by each of the spiralizers:

Which spiralizer do I prefer? As I’ve mentioned in the review above, they both have their pros and cons. Depending on the fruit or vegetable I am spiralizing, I will select the spiralizer that can cope (or be cleaned) more efficiently. For example, I’d only use the bigger spiralizer for sweet potatoes while to make zucchini noodles I would most likely use the smaller unit.

Over to you – do you own a spiralizer? Any thoughts to add to this spiralizer comparison?
